“Wild About Water” at Lake of the Woods Registration Ends Tonight

The sun is out and the weather is fine, so why not take your little one outdoors and explore nature? Lake of the Woods Forest Preserve is hosting “Wild About Water” this Saturday, April 12 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. It is a hands-on educational program designed for preschoolers, ages 3 to 5, and their chaper ones to discover the wonders of water. The children will be engaging in scientific activities such as buoyancy and the movement of water.

It will be held in the Mabery Gelvin Botanical Garden at 109 S. Lake of the Woods Rd., in Mahomet, conveniently located inside of the Forest Preserve.

Today, April 7, is the final day for registration by 5 p.m. Space is limited. You may register over the phone by calling 217-896-2455 and contacting Pam Leiter. Enrollment per child is $5 fee and there is no admission fee to enter Lake of the Woods Forest Preserve or the Botanical Garden. So, look around and see what else you can find.
