This week on SP Radio, Laura Kammin and Anjanette Riley from the Illinois-Indiana Sea Grant program stopped in to the studio to tell us about how and why to properly dispose of unwanted medicines. They filled us in on this past Saturday’s nationwide DEA medicine collection event, and a permanent collection location that will soon be set up for Champaign County.
They also gave us more information about some of the dangers that prescriptions and over-the-counter medicines can pose to the environment, and how research is helping to inform better and safer ways of disposing of these substances.
