Cynthia Hoyle is an advocate for livable communities and safe streets. She was a pioneer in advocating for streets as corridors for all modes of transportation beginning with the publication of the report Traffic Calming in 1995. Her contributions to creating safe, livable communities and training citizen planners have extended nationally. She is a noted speaker and author on the topics of mode choice and healthy communities. She lives in Urbana with her husband, son, two rabbits, a dog and a gecko and hopes her work will continue to create livable, sustainable and healthy communities for future generations.
