Nate Jones is an actor/musician from Champaign, and he is a Cancer. When he is not rocking the funky vocals for the local band Brother Embassy, he can be seen acting in movies, theater, and music videos. In his free time, Nate Jones enjoys practicing kung-fu, watching Bruce Lee movies and kicking some noob tail on Halo 3. Nate Jones loves getting the (fake) dirt on some of Champaign-Urbana's biggest celebrities.
A local all-girl a capella group is under investigation by authorities today as a video has been leaked to the media containing horrific scenes of abuse and violence. The group known as The Girls Next Door has been put on indefinite suspension for the video until further notice.
The 36-year-old group has a reputation for being positive role models for today’s youth and has donated millions of dollars to countless charities and organizations. The singing troupe is popular and well-known by many for their clean, “good girl” image.

Rumors have circulated for years about the violence involved with fans after shows. One particular incident gained national attention in 1993 where a 19-year-old UIUC freshman sustained a fractured skull at a GND show, but later changed his story, claiming that he accidentally fell down the steps of the Illini Union instead.
However, many have come out to show support for the group. A retired member of the singing group who had requested to stay anonymous sent this statement today:
“Anything that we have done in the past was all out of good fun. Not once was anyone ever injured as a result of abuse, or was anyone deliberately hurt for our amusement. If anyone ever did get hurt though, they probably deserved it.”
Earlier this week, our CU Sizzler! reporters had the exclusive opportunity to sit with one of the group’s diehard fans for an interview. This video may contain scenes which could be disturbing for some viewers. Discretion is advised.
