Searching for The Next Big Thang in C-U Emcees

nextbigthang.jpgOur search for The Next Big Thang continues and we are still looking for entries! This is the perfect opportunity for someone looking for a leg up. Are you tired of whack home recordings through cheap microphones that don’t quite capture your ideas? Can’t find a way to get the attention of local promoters? This is your chance. Step up to the mic and let us hear what you have to say. If we dig it, you’ll get a full length original track and a feature profile right here on Yes Yes Y’all. What are you waiting for?

Entry instructions after the jump.

Here’s how to enter:

  1. Download the instrumental MP3.
  2. Record your 16-bar verse (verse begins after an 8-bar intro).
  3. Send your entry in MP3 format to larrygates@smilepolitely.com. The entry should be a capella and the same length as the instrumental. Be sure to include your name, e-mail address and phone number.
  4. Embrace your new found fame.

Deadline for all entries is MIDNIGHT Wednesday, March 26th, 2008.

Contestants will NOT be judged on the recording quality of their entry.

Open to all Champaign county residents 18 and older. Smile Politely contributors and advertisers are not eligible.

Let me know if you have any questions! I look forward to working with one of you.
