This past Friday, we said goodbye to Withershins as the band gave us their last show before an indefinite hiatus. Guitarist Bryce Robert Hays is moving to Utah, and if you missed Withershins’ last show, you still have one more chance to catch a performance from Hays via his synth/ambient project, Dr Responsible. One more chance.

Here is this summer’s second session of the Twilight Concert on the Quad, which features the U of I Summer Band playing a variety of tunes, including standard and contemporary works from a wide array of musical styles. This is a popular, family-friendly event that drew a great crowd for the first session in June, and is sure to do the same this time around.

There’s triple the hardcore music at I4C on Thursday with this lineup. These bands from South Dakota, Colorado, and Oklahoma will be bringing you some face-smashing sets from all over the country. Get ready.

Folk rock group Finer Feelings are gearing up to release their new album this Friday. They’ll be breaking out the new material at this Friday show, and you’ll also be able to get your hands on it at a low low price. With some other favorite local bands in attendance, this Cowboy Monkey show is a steal at $7.

Country music artist Joe Diffie blew up big in the 90’s, cranking out a dozen chart-topping hits and cementing a real following within the genre. He’s been cranking away at it ever since. His most recent project is a collaboration with hip-hop outfit Jawga Boyz for the single, “Girl Ridin’ Shotgun.”

Emo/punk group Kowabunga! Kid are some up-and-comers that have had quite the year already with a recent album release and tour. They’ll be playing the home field this weekend with assists from locals and out-of-towners alike.

WHERE: Urbana High School (free)

WHEN: Saturday, July 23rd at 7 p.m.

Urbana Pops’ July concert is titled Made in the USA and will feature a performance by former CU resident Andrew Edwards, who is returning to play in the high school he graduated from. The concert will include classic tunes that many listeners will recognize from television to radio to just day to day life. Also performing is the cast of Urbana Park District’s summer musical.
