DJ Tim Williams will be playing classic disco hits as well as today’s take on disco. Just make sure you bring your boogie shoes and drinking pants, because they have a variety of drinks to choose from as well. Blackbird is a brand new bar in the downtown Urbana scene, so make this an excuse to check it out.

The Uncorked Series at Krannert brings you a mixture of music and wine. This week enjoy tunes from The Painkillers while enjoying a variety of wine samples served by Southern Glazers of Illinois. If The Painkillers can’t get you out of your funk, maybe a little wine will get you there.

Emmaline is a pop-jazz singer that also plays the violin from the Cincinnati area. Her performance will be backed by members of the West Staley group, some of which have played in 13 different states and studied with many different jazz legends. The show starts fairly early as Emmaline heads off to Florida directly after to start her tour.

The radio station WBGL, 91.7, brings Stars Go Dim all the way from Tulsa to Meadowbrook Community Church. No tickets required, just come for a good time.

WHAT: Downtown Doom Metal at 51 Main

WHERE: 51 Main ($5)

WHEN: Thursday, July 6th at 7 p.m.

51 Main brings metal to the downtown area. Some of the heaviest metal bands around will be featured, including Archarus, Earth WitchØde Vinter, and Ganache. Also, don’t worry about being all dressed up to listen to some metal, the 51 Main’s dress code doesn’t apply to this show.

Fringe Fest, the first of it’s kind, was created by Bentley’s Pub and Wedge. The festival consists of tons of local bands and performers lasting all day. It’s sponsored and partnered with many different local restaurants and establishments, so be prepared for some great eats and drinks.
