ZXO is emo twinkles in ambient soundscapes, featuring former members of Hank.

WHAT: Death/Death/Death Fest

WHERE: Thee DeathTower ($5-10)

WHEN: Saturday, June 20th, 3 p.m.

A fest is brewing at Thee DeathTower, featuring mostly local punk and metal bands, and a few from out of town including Springfield’s Asthma and WARRS, and Chicago’s Slow Chapel. The Facebook event page has set times and more info.

Renowned Chicago folk singer-songwriter Robbie Fulks has played his share of C-U shows, but this one (which is actually in Tolono) is going to be an especially relaxing outdoor daytime into nighttime folk music “fest” with Nashville’s Bobby Bare Jr. and some of C-U’s best locals.

Bookmobile! is homegrown Ramones-style punk, and it’s definitely worth catching them here if you haven’t yet.
