Joel Gillespie grew up in Iowa, went to college in Indiana, and is in the process of moving to Illinois. He tries to hide his prejudice against states that don't begin with I, but, let's face it, he is naturally suspicious of their intentions. If you have trouble sleeping, give him a call and ask about soybean processing.

I remember when C-U had no Starbucks in the first place. Maybe it's better this way?

ha, i was wondering how long the danville location was going to last...
i must admit i do love starbucks coffee, but i would be the first to rejoice if every starbucks got replaced by a locally owned coffeeshop. why would you go to starbucks when you can go to bar guiliani/cafe kopi etc?
i guess i don't mind them too much in a place like the mall though.

Ay. Say what you will -- and I agree with ya, local coffeehouses are the best and are my choice as well -- but --
"Starbucks offers full benefits such as health, dental, and vision insurance, as well as stock-option grants and 401(k) with matching to employees who work an average of 20 hours per week over a three month period." (Wikipedia)
Can't much argue with this. Most companies don't offer benefits for FULL-TIME employees. SO, I am a fan of the company based on their ethics regarding company employees.

interesting. and commendable. I applaud them for that, but still think it would be ok if there was at least a slightly higher proportion of local coffeeshops: starbucks (C-U does pretty well, I mean mostly elsewhere.)
