Barrelhouse is now four years old

Barrelhouse 34 is celebrating its fourth birthday. I’m at the age now where time simultaneously passes too quickly and too slowly, so my initial reaction to Barrelhouse turning four was something in between, “Oh, shit, really?” and “That’s it?” I swear it still has that new wood smell.

In those short or long years, Barrelhouse has become a staple of the Downtown Champaign bar scene; it’s the home of some of our favorite mules, and has a great cocktail menu.

Image: An embedded link from Barrelhouse 34’s Facebook page shows a photo of the entrace to the bar. The Barrelhouse 34 sign is across the top of the building. An arm holds a plate on which is a piece of cake with a number four candle. The four candle is replacing the number 4 in the bar’s sign.
