Per the News-Gazette, a campaign to raise donors to erect a statue of Roger Ebert outside the Virginia Theater will be announced later today. The idea comes from Donna and Scott Anderson, a local travel agent and lawyer, respectively.
The proposed bronze statue will be made by sculptor Rick Harney and will cost an estimated $122,500. The Public Art League is on board and hopes to have the piece in place for Ebertfest 2014.
