Discuss the intersection between images, words, and life in downtown Champaign this Thursday

There will be two, I imagine very different, but maybe surprisingly similar, opportunities to meet and discuss texts this Thursday, July 26th, in downtown Champaign. First, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m., meet up with the CU Comic Book Club at The Blind Pig on Neil to discuss of one of four selections from the following: Nimona, Kindred, Flinstones Volume 1, or, My Brother’s Husband. Later on, this Thursday, you don’t need to move very far (just a few steps away to Aroma Cafe) to join the Champaign County History Museum’s book club from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. to discuss The Monuments Men by Robert Edsel, a story that follows the journey of artworks stolen by Nazi soldiers. Spend a few hours this Thursday discussing images, their value, and the way we possess and digest them together. Perhaps grab a treat to digest throughout.
