Each year the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 70 collects backpacks and school supplies for Urbana School District students, and this year’s drive will be for Thomas Paine Elementary.
They’ve been collecting since July and still have just about 20 backpacks, and are hoping to get closer to last year’s haul of 60.
You can also still donate supplies; the list can be found here. Items can be dropped off in the Urbana Police Department lobby, at 400 S. Vine, through August 11th.
