Exile on Main Street celebrating International Cassette Store Day this Saturday

I’m no collector of cassette tapes, but this format has been making a bit of a comeback. Tomorrow, Saturday, September 7th, Exile on Main Street will participate in the inaugural International Cassette Store Day. Pretty neat.

Even if you’re not a collector, it would be wise to go check it out if music is your interest. You’ve probably been trying to make a reason to visit there and pick up an LP or CD anyways, so why not make the trip on Saturday?

From the Facebook event:

As lovers of all types physical media, Exile on Main Street is proud to participate in this year’s inaugural Cassette Store Day!

A number of limited edition cassette tapes (some as limited as 100 copies) will be available at Exile starting at 10AM this Saturday. First come first serve, as always of course.

In addition, the store will be running a weekend sale in conjunction with the event. Details are as follows:

20% off all new and used LPs, CDs and tapes in the shop!!! This excludes the cassettes marked with CSD written in red on them and also all local music.

40% off all new LPs in the 25% off crates!!!

FYI, Exile sadly did not get allocated any of the Flaming Lips release of their newest album on CS, which is one of this year’s releases. There were several others that simply couldn’t make it here in time as well. Those familiar with how Record Store Day works, certainly should understand how this happens.

LONG LIVE CASSETTE STORES! LONG LIVE RECORD STORES! LONG LIVE CD STORES! LOVE LIVE LOCAL STORES!

As someone at Camelot Music used to say, “Give the gift of music”.
