Intimate benefit July 2nd for The Prairie Ensemble

For those with a love of cabaret-style singing, Classical music, or fundraising events (or, heck, all three), there will be a cabaret-style fundraising event on Wednesday, July 2nd to benefit The Prairie Ensemble.

Taken from a message from Prairie Ensemble coordinator Kevin Kelly:

Nice and Easy: A Mid-Week Cabaret
a benefit for The Prairie Ensemble,
Champaign-Urbana’s eclectic chamber orchestra
before their final concert
featuring vocalist Geoff Poor and pianist David Thies
in songs from The Great American Songbook

Both Poor (owner or Poor’s Audio-Video) and Thies (a local attorney) are natives of Urbana. Together their musical tastes now tend toward Sinatra and Bennett. They perform “cabaret style” to encourage intimacy with the audience in a live setting.

Time: 6:00 p.m.
Date: Wednesday, July 2
Place: the home of Geoff & Ann Poor,
1901 Maynard Dr., Champaign
(Maynard Lake subdivision)

There is a required donation of $50 per person, and reservations are required.
