It’s official: Illinois schools are closed for the remainder of the school year

We kind of knew it was coming, but now it’s official. Governor Pritzker is expected to announce in his press conference today that in-person instruction will not happen for the remainder of the school year. Remote learning, in whatever form that is taking right now, will continue through the end of the school year.

Even though it was expected, and it’s necessary, it’s still sad for a lot of reasons. Kudos to all of the school personnel who have been connecting with and providing learning experiences for students, making sure those who need them have Chromebooks, and continuing to provide food for families in need.
