A new exhibit featuring the Kickapoo Rail Trail opens on April 7th. The opening will take place at the Interpretive Center at the Homer Lake Forest Preserve from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
In addition to the exhibit’s opening, there will also be a free 6.7 mile bike tour of the trail, in which there will be select stops along the way to discuss the trail’s rich history. The tour will begin at the access point located near the northern end of the Urbana Walmart, and end near The Wheelhouse in St. Joseph. The tour is rain or shine, and spaces are limited so be sure to register ahead of time on the website.
