Sherry Helfer of Savoy was riding her bicycle yesterday morning on County Road 600N, just west of US 45 south of Tolono, when she was knocked down by a green SUV. The driver of the vehicle, who appeared to be talking on their cell phone at the time, fled the scene. Helfer sustained a dislocated elbow, and was released from Provena last night.
Police are looking for the driver of said SUV, but unfortunately news reports (both TV and print) have not revealed any further information about the vehicle other than its color.
