Low Tech Printmaking Workshop and Desafinado at Urbana’s Market at the Square

May 11 Art Events at Urbana’s Market at the Square Include Low Tech Printmaking Workshop and Performance by Desafinado

The City of Urbana Public Arts Program will hold the first of its series of free monthly art activities at Urbana’s Market at the Square on Saturday, May 11. Try your hand at printmaking with artist Lisa Kesler from 8:00 a.m.–12 noon and listen to bossa nova, samba, and popular Brazilian music from Desafinado from 9:30–11:30 a.m. Both events are free, open to all ages, and require no registration to participate. The workshop and performance will be held on Walnut Street near the City of Urbana tent at the northwest entrance to the Market at the Square, located in historic downtown Urbana on Illinois and Vine.

The City offers art programming during Urbana’s Market at the Square season. Workshops and performances will take place on the following dates: May 11, June 22, July 20, August 17, and September 28. The full 2013 schedule with descriptions can be found online. This program is part of the Urbana Public Arts Program, providing opportunities for all residents to engage with the arts in its many forms.
