Do you remember Mas Amigos? The Mexican restaurant was on Springfield, just west of First Street. The building is now gone, but everytime I drive by the empty lot I think of those delicous tortilla chips. (Read our review from 2009 here.)
The restaurant had a short stint on University Avenue in Urbana, but that was a several years ago now.
But good news — Mas Amigos is back in business, under the same ownership. It’s now located in that awkward little strip mall on North Neil between Vine and Maple, just across the street from the post office.
The menu is pretty limited, but I had a pork taco and a cheese quesadilla, and both were great. There’s seating inside, and I’m looking forward to going back and trying a few more things.
As you can see from the photos, they’re still finshing off the details, but all signs point to a very promising future.
