Last spring, we posted this update about The Yards, a massive Downtown Champaign development concept that would include a hotel, sports arena, expansion of Illinois Terminal, and more. MTD committed to contributing $25 million of the $250 million project, and it looks like larger portion of that will be covered by a grant through the U.S. Department of Transporation, totaling $17.275 million.
