Series loss to Buckeyes knocks Illini baseball out of lead

The University of Illinois baseball team lost two of three to Ohio State over the weekend, completing their 2009 home schedule and dropping them into a tie for second place with the Buckeyes in the Big Ten standings with one week to play. First-place Minnesota (who leads by a half-game), Illinois and Ohio State all play teams near the bottom of the conference next weekend, so it will take upsets aplenty for the Illini to come out on top. Check out Illinois Baseball Report (who supplied the above photo of Ben Reeser) for full coverage of the Fightin’ Illini baseball team.
