Spindependence will return this July

DJs from around the midwest will unite July 2-4 for “Spindependance,” a 3-day Independence Day festival taking place in Downtown Champaign.  See more info and the initial lineup of DJs (including several locals) in the press release below. The full lineup will be announced June 1st.

SPINDEPENDENCE RETURNS TO DOWNTOWN CHAMPAIGN IN 2015

DJ Festival and BBQ returns to Cowboy Monkey and The Highdive bigger and better than ever!!!

CHAMPAIGN, IL (May 18, 2015) — On July 2, 3 & 4, Central Illinois’, Chicago’s, Indy’s and St. Louis’ top DJs will all gather for 3 music filled days, during Spindependence at Cowboy Monkey and The Highdive in Downtown Champaign, Illinois.

ABOUT SPINDEPENDENCE
Spindependence Day was introduced in 2003 by John Kosmopoulos aka DJ Kosmo and was originally created as a barbeque party for DJs and staff in the bar and restaurant industry who were looking for something to do during the 4th of July holiday. It was hosted in various locations throughout Downtown Champaign throughout the years but never on a consistent annual basis. After a few years in hiatus, John Kosmopoulos aka DJ Kosmo and Douglas Layne aka DJ Delayney, brought Spindependence Day back as a single day annual event in 2009 and it has consistently grown in attendance and has quickly become one of the most anticipated parties of the summer event season.

Today Spindependence Day is a multi-day barbeque and DJ event with over 25 DJs, both locally and regionally, of various genres performing in venues inside and outside that attracts a diverse group of DJs, bar/restaurant industry staff and all around good vibe party crowd.
