Spurlock Museum is hosting a discussion on cultural stereotyping this afternoon

Spurlock Museum has a new series, Contemporary Conversations, and the first program is happening today at 4 p.m. at the museum. The aim of the series is to foster discussion on cultural issues relevant to the university and the community, and it is free to attend. Here are the specifics about today’s discussion:

The first program in the series, Cultural Stereotyping is scheduled for Thursday, March 1, 2018 at 4:00 pm and features a discussion with SleepyEye LaFromboise (Sisseton Wahpeton Dakota and Tonawanda Seneca tribes), Cultural Educator; Araceli Diaz, Assistant Director of La Casa Cultural Latina; Patrick Hammie, Associate Professor of Painting and Sculpture in the School of Art + Design at Illinois; Angela Williams, Associate Director, Center for South Asian & Middle Eastern Studies; and moderator Elisabeth Stone, Director of Education, Spurlock Museum.
