SXSW: Thursday dinner — Salt Lick BBQ — Driftwood, Tex.

No trip to SXSW is complete without the requisite trip out to the infamous Salt Lick BBQ. The massive restaurant can seat up to 2000 people at one time, and the magic happens here:

Ribs are a big thing out here too, despite the fact that Texas is known for its brisket. A rib plate can be ordered for $11.95 plus tax and tip. It’s accompanied by cole slaw and baeked beans:

But most people just go all in and order the family style. It’s an all-you-can-eat bonanza of brisket, ribs, sausage, cole slaw, beans, pickles, onions and three different types of sauce. It’s for real:
