Illinois Renaissance has unveiled updated plans for the future of Memorial Stadium. Construction on a new football performance center is set to begin in 2018, with a completion date of Summer 2019. Phase 2 involves renovation of the stadium itself, including the demolishing of “the Horseshoe” to make room for a new grandstand. You can see detailed plans at the Illinois Renaissance website.
