The Venue CU, an “upscale urban wedding and event space” according to their website, will be opening in the spaces previously occupied by 51 Main and Memphis on Main in Downtown Champaign this coming spring. 51 Main vacated the venue and moved to the space where Rafters previously existed on Bradley Avenue just off Mattis, and where Memphis on Main closed last November. The Venue CU will take over both 51 and 55 Main Street.
While there is no exact opening date set, they are stating that “Spring 2020” is their goal. Their website (linked above) states the following:
