There was a Girl Scouts cookie-inspired dessert competition in Champaign

Girl Scouts of Central Illinois hosted a Diamonds, Desserts, and Distinction signature event last Thursday night with desserts made from Girl Scouts cookies. There were six teams, and each team was assigned a cookie. The teams included Baldarotta’s Porketta & Sicilian Sausage, Betsy’s Bistro, Hamilton Walker’s, Lincolnshire Fields Country Club, Biaggi’s, and Urbana Country Club.

Baldarotta’s Porketta & Sicilian Sausage made Genovesi lemon custard stuffed pastries with the Lemonades Girl Scouts cookies.

Urbana Country Club created a s’mores parfait with the S’mores Girl Scouts cookies.

The Judges’ Choice Award was awarded to Lincolnshire Fields Country Club for the Thin Mint Mousse Bombe made with Thin Mint Girl Scouts cookies.

The People’s Choice Award was given to Betsy’s Bistro for their Holey Cannoli dessert made with the gluten-free Caramel Chocolate Chip Girl Scouts cookies.

In addition, the Girl Scouts of Central Illinois honored Champaign-Urbana Public Health Department Administrator Julie Pryde as the 2021 Woman of Distinction for her work in our community.

The event was a fundraising event for Girl Scouts of Central Illinois which support local Girl Scouts programs to teach essential life skills in STEM, financial literacy, civic engagement, health, wellness, and the arts.
