The sad reality of a poorly received video game release has come: Volition, Champaign’s video game developer in Downtown Champaign, will be laying off “30 employees” — including their GM Dan Cermak. All of the information about the layoffs is over at Kotaku — which discusses how Agents of Mayhem was poorly recieved and sales were not what they had hoped.

On a personal note, I’d like to say here that Dan Cermak is one of the best and brightest in the community — he will be missed as the GM of that company — but surely he will land elsewhere soon.
