On this edition of SP Radio, we were live from Mike N’ Molly’s beer garden on what turned out to be a beautiful Friday night. Champaign Mayor Don Gerard joined us to talk about his first year in office and then discussed some of his favorite things in and around C-U.
Next, Isaac Arms joined the mayor on stage for a rendition of “Mayor Brightside” a song they co-wrote about the mayor’s first 14 months in office. (see below for lyrics)
Mike N’ Molly’s resident trivia guru Quizmaster Chris put the mayor in the hot seat with questions about Champaign’s history. Don did fairly well, though not as well as the crowd did later in the episode.
Smile Politely’s Editors editors were forced to explain their choices for our 2012 BEST lists. We started off easy by making Caleb Curtiss justify the existence of the SP’s BEST lists.
Lots of difficult questions, but all of the editors were more than up to the task.
