On this edition of Smile Politely Radio, we speak with Kim Sheehan from Urbana’s Spurlock Museum. The museum has 40,000 artifacts that celebrate “our shared humanity by collecting, preserving, documenting, exhibiting, and studying objects of cultural heritage.” We will discuss the permanent collection, their education outreach, plus special exhibits and events coming up, including a James Bond exhibit. Then we talk about the museum’s place in the local community and why it’s important for Central Illinois to have a museum like Spurlock.
