Spotlight on an Organization:

Crisis Nursery

Every day, the Crisis Nursery works to provide an “Island of Safety” for the children in our community. By providing emergency care for children, the Nursery is preventing child neglect and promoting safety. There are many ways to get involved at the Crisis Nursery, either working directly or indirectly with the children. All volunteers working directly with children must complete a physical, TB test and background check. Volunteer needs include working with childcare staff and children, providing emotional and physical support, helping with Parent Child Interaction groups and support groups, general maintenance duties, beautifying the facility, and assisting staff with general office duties. Volunteer information and applications can be found at http://crisisnursery.net. Questions may also be directed to Volunteer Coordinator, Rebecca Freeman at 217-337-2731 or [email protected].
