Tonight: SP State Representative IL-103 Debate at Mike ‘N Molly’s

Tonight at Mike ‘N Molly’s, Smile Politely will be hosting an Illinois State Representative Debate featuring Carol Ammons and Kristin Williamson. You may recall that we hosted a Mayoral Q & A this summer, featuring some locals throwing their hats in the race. This time around, we’re hosting Ammons and Williamson, who are running for the IL-103 State Representative seat.

Join us tonight at 6 p.m. for the free debate, which will feature questions written by you, the reader, as well as our editorial staff. The debate will take place in the beergarden at Mike ‘N Molly’s, and if the weather doesn’t hold, we will move the event indoors.

Publisher Seth Fein will moderate, and be wearing a jacket of some sort. Who the hell knows.

Here is a bit more information about the two candidates:

Carol Ammons

Carol Ammons is an experienced elected official.  She has served on the Champaign County Board and is currently a member of the Urbana City Council. In the 13 years she has lived in Champaign-Urbana, Carol has worked with numerous service agencies; as a volunteer, staff, and/or board member. Carol is the mother of three children and her husband is the president of his local union.

Kristin Williamson

Williamson is the Director of Public Relations at Benefit Planning Consultants, Inc. and University of Illinois & Parkland College Graduate. She was named one of Central Illinois Business Magazine‘s 40 under 40, is a part of the Dillard Airport Governance and Sustainability Taskforce, Don Moyer Boys & Girls Club Board of Directors, Rotarian & Paul Harris Fellow, and Illinois Lincoln Series for Excellence in Public Service Fellow. She is mother to Evan, age 10.
