This year’s annual installment of The Great Cover Up at Highdive was a blast for attendents. Twenty-eight of Champaign-Urbana’s finest bands and artists performed cover sets of groups across an entire musical spectrum of time and genre to benefit C-U At Home’s “One Winter Night”, the Independent Media Center and the Prairie Rivers Network.
Thursday was perhaps the most electric of the 4-night extravaganza. The line-up was jam packed with local favorites such as Isaac Arms, Grandkids, and The Dirty Feathers amongst other talents. The night came to an explosive close (literally) when the Dirty Feathers in true nature of British legends–The Who stammered through ‘My Generation’, destroyed their instruments and set off firecrackers.
