I mainly know of Carnage because of the song he did with Migos, but his success as a DJ extends far beyond that, most notably with the party banger, “I Like Tuh” featuring ILoveMakonnen. However, the show is sold out. If you are still interested in finding tickets, you could try the Facebook page.

What: The Oh Hellos with Liza Anne and Fiona Kimble

Where: The Canopy Club ($15)

When: Wednesday, January 27th at 9 p.m.

The Oh Hellos are a folk-rock group most widely known for their song “Hello My Old Heart”, but they’ve got plenty of other good tunes. They are hitting up the stage at The Canopy Club along with Liza Anne and local singer-songwriter Fiona Kimble.

Where: The Accord ($10)

When: Thursday and Friday, January 28-29 at 8 p.m.

The Great Cover Up continues on Thursday with Motes, Tara Terra, and Grandkids. Friday is the final night of the event and the headliners include Church Booty and Abnormous. Check out our recap of The Great Cover Up from this past weekend here.

Come check out local rockers Wicked Walls perform at Mike N Molly’s with Thoughts Detecting Machines, a solo project of Rick Valentin, Grand Ambassador, a newer local indie-rock project, and Stomopad, a rock group out of Chicago.

What: The Keller Williams Kwahtro with Cabinet

Where: ($18 in advance, $20 at the door)

When: Friday, January 29th at 8:30 p.m.

Keller Williams brings his unique style of acoustic dance music to The Canopy Club – it is sure to be a lively show. He is here with Cabinet, a bluegrass band from Pennsylvania.

What: Colt Ford

Where: The City Center ($15 in advance, $20 at the door)

When: Friday, January 29th at 7 p.m.

Colt Ford’s albums have consistenly had success in reaching the top 10 of Billboard’s Country chart. Colt Ford’s music is considred part of a music genre called Country Rap, which is heavily influenced by Hip-Hop and traditional Country music. Sure to be an interesting night of music.

What: Expressions III

Where: Institute 4 Creativity ($5)

When: Saturday, January 30th at 8:30 p.m.

From the Facebook event page: “EXPRESSIONS is a new event showcasing multi-media art created by local underground talent with a shared theme of experimental and psychedelic expression. We plan to bring together sound & sight in a relaxed manner for a unified multi-sensory experience”. This looks like a really interesting event. It will feature some live painting and video projection, along with some great music. Jorts is a local intergalactic disco trance-pop duo that will get things started. Other local electonic musicians that will be performing are Snayl, Vibraspore, and Two-Legged Zoo.

What: Hey Marseilles, Bad Bad Hats, Again is Already

Where: The Accord ($10)

When: Saturday, January 30th at 8 p.m.

Hey Marseilles is an orchestral-pop and folk rock band from Seattle that have gained considerable commercial success with songs like “Heart Beats”. Opening up the show is Bad Bad Hats, and local indie pop group Again is Already. Should be a great night of music at The Accord. (keep an eye out for our interview with Hey Marseilles that will be posted later this week).

What: Louis the Child

Where: The Canopy Club ($10 in advance, $13 at the door)

When: Saturday, January 30th at 8 p.m.

Chicago-based electronic duo, Louis the Child ignited SoundCloud with their version of “music that makes you happy” on songs like “It’s Strange”. They will be performing at The Canopy Club on Saturday night with Wheathin, Mielo, and Jay Lugz.

What: Old Fox Road with Kowabunga! Kid, Dry Heave and Copper Blue

Where: Mike N Molly’s ($5)

When: Saturday, January 30th at 9 p.m.

This will be local punk-rockers, Old Fox Road‘s first local show since getting back from touring. They will be joined by Kowabunga! Kid, Dry Heave, and Copper Blue.

What: The Dirt Poor with Penny Horses and Finer Feelings

Where: Memphis on Main ($5)

When: Saturday, January 30th at 9 p.m.

Should be a good night of blues rock and alt-country over at Memphis on Main on Saturday night. The Dirt Poor will be headlining this one along with Penny Horses and Finer Feelings.
