Kayla Brown’s TeKayla Tunesday

Kayla Brown brings some orginal tunes this Tuesday, so come hangout and enjoy some drinks and great music.

Peter Tijerina Quintet

Rose Bowl Tavern // free // 5 p.m.

Trombonist Peter Tijerina brings his quintet to the Rose Bowl to some classic and modern jazz tunes. 

Rig Time, Claim Defeat, False Negative, Bury Thy Wicked

Nightshop // $7 adv, $10 door // 5:30 p.m.

Nightshop consistently brings the metal, with four bands playing doom, heavy metal, hardcore, classic punk, and more. 

KOPPS, Boy Jr, Jack West, Jimonah

Nightshop // $7 adv, $10 door // 9 p.m.

New York represents tonight at Nightshop, with KOPPS, Boy Jr, and Jack West all coming from NY. KOPPS brings electro-pop and rock, and Boy Jr and Jack West play indie/bedroom rock. Also joining them is Normal’s Jimonah, bringing experimental, beats, and chiptune. 

THURSDAY, July 21st

Chachi and Falbo

Rose Bowl Tavern // free // 5 p.m.

Americana Happy Hour with Chachi and Falbo, featuring some original songs as well as classic folk and americana songs. 

Sass Siders

Boomerangs // free // 6 p.m.

Half of the duo Mank & Sass, Sass Siders brings funk, blues, rock, country, hip-hop, and more. So basically, she can do it all, and she does it well. 

FRIDAY, July 22nd

Black Dirt Music Festival (Day One)

Day one of Black Dirt includes KALEO, Houndmouth, Mike Campbell & The Dirty Knobs, and Leah Blevins. 

Andrew Binder, Jay Ferguson and Paul Johnston

Rose Bowl Tavern // free // 5 p.m.

A jazz trio of Paul Johnston on piano, Andrew Binder on bass, and Jay Ferguson on drums. 

Modern Drugs, Retro Via, Paul Kotheimer

Seven Saints // $10 // 7:30 p.m.

Singer-songwriter Paul Kotheimer is joined by indie rock bands Retro Via and Modern Drugs, playing in the outdoor patio of Seven Saints.

Folk punk at Nightshop with these three great acts, and one more artist yet to be announced. 

Temple of Low Men, Trouble Chasin’

Temple of Low Men are playing their first show in years at Rose Bowl on Friday, with Trouble Chasin’ opening the show.

Jerk!, Rory Book and the Volumes

Las Vegas’ punk group Jerk! stops by Brass Rail in support of their new release Welcome to Sleepaway Camp. They’re joined by Rory Book and the Volumes. 

Castle Finn

Pour Bros // free // 8:30 p.m.

Indie psych-rockers Castle Finn play Pour Bros on the patio. This band is great live, so I highly recommend catching this show.

Soul Shakedown with DJ LEGTWO

Rose Bowl Tavern // free // 10 p.m.

Late inside at Rose Bowl, Larry Gates, aka DJ LEGTWO will be spinning funk and soul favorites.

SATURDAY, July 23rd

Infusing bluegrass with contemporary influence, Wildwood is always a good time.

Black Dirt Music Festival (Day Two)

Downtown Bloomington // $49+ // 4 p.m.

Day two of Black Dirt includes Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness, The Record Company, Nikki Lane, and Backyard Tire Fire. 

The K-Tels

►Rose Bowl Tavern // free // 7 p.m.

The K-Tels make their return to Rose Bowl for a night of rock and roll. 

Electric Six, Supersuckers, Rolling Sixes

►Nightshop // $20 adv, $25 door // 7 p.m.

Detroit’s Electric Six brings alternative, indie, and dance rock to Nightshop. Joining them is Tucson, AZ’s Supersuckers, and Decatur’s Rolling Sixes.

Rap-rock group Discrepancies comes to us from St. Louis, they’ll be joined by Alborn opening up the evening. 

Hot Cops!, Our Landmark

Hot Cops! and Our Landmark play a late show at Rose Bowl. Both bands have new music and will surely be playing said new music. 

SUNDAY, July 24th

Pricklefest returns on Sunday, with a big ole lineup of bands playing indoors and outdoors at Rose Bowl, including Sweetmelk, Poisoned Rational, Nonagon, The Joy Machine, and many more.
