Courage Connection is a great cause providing housing and support services for victims of domestic violence. Come have some of C-U’s finest beer and watch a great show while supporting an important community resource.

WHAT: Soma Summer Nights #2

Soma Summer Nights series takes on soul and R&B this week. Local artists Cii La’ColeCrofton Coleman and The Amber SkyDeShawnMusicRosey, and more will be performing. The series opens up the floor to artists in hopes of providing a more “intimate, back-room” type of show, both the audience and performers can fully enjoy with no interruptions.

Riggs has officially been open for one whole year. To celebrate the anniversary they’ll be having a party with performances from Love Sign, The Caleb Cook Band, and more as well as some drone racing. Grab a beer, enjoy some tunes, and watch drones fly by.

WHAT: Audiofeed Music Festival

WHERE: Champaign County Fairgrounds ($70 for the entire festival, $35/day)

2017 marks the fifth year for Audiofeed Music Festival being at the Champaign County Fairgrounds. The festival inspires to create an environment where love and community come first, hosting musical acts with many different backgrounds/styles as well as many different types of performances and religious services. Audiofeed has a place for everyone, bring in your 4th by coming out and having a good time.

WHAT: Reds, Whites, and Blues

Allerton Park presents its second summer concert of the season with performances from The Blues Deacons and The Cash Box Kings. A variety of red and white wine, as well as Samuel Adams, will be available to help celebrate the 4th. Food Trucks will also be on location providing something for the entire family. Bring your lawn chair and enjoy it all.

Popular house venue, Blips and Chitz, hosts local acts Earth Witch and Edna, as well as touring band, Telekinetic Yeti, from Dubuque, Iowa. This show promises to be full of doom/metal sounds to keep the metal rolling over from Monday.





WHAT: Celebrating Nick Rudd w/ IO Mining Corp and Brian Reedy

Nick Rudd of IO Mining Corp will be playing one last show before his farewell. He’ll be performing both with IO Mining Corp and Brian Reedy as their duo Water Between Continents. Come out for Nick’s last show in town.

Cowboy Monkey hosts all local bands this Friday night, making for a stacked bill. What better way to start your weekend, than by going to an all out local show in downtown Champaign, while enjoying the newly renovated patio at Cowboy Monkey. This is not a show or atmosphere to miss.

Etumu Elmari’s Kickstarter is ending for their Lagoon EP. Come out and celebrate, maybe even preorder the EP. Isaac Arms, Rogue Tendency, and D. Clea will also be performing.

Sambolo brings the funk to The Iron Post this Saturday night. You won’t find another act in town quite like Sambolo, which always makes for a fun time, just be ready to dance.







WHAT: Sarah Shook & the Disarmers in Urbana!

WHERE: Rose Bowl Tavern ($10 in advance, $15 at door)

WHEN: Sunday, July 2nd at 3 p.m.

This Sunday the Rose Bowl Tavern hosts a show you should not miss. Caleb Cook Band opens for Sarah Shook & the Disarmers from Chapell Hill, North Carolina. Two better bands couldn’t be paired together at the Rose Bowl, make sure to catch this show.


WHAT: Ratboys / Mother Evergreen / Euriah / Winder at Memphis on Main

WHERE: Memphis on Main ($5, 21+ to enter)

WHEN: Sunday, July 2nd at 8 p.m.

Hosting Chicago bands Ratboys and Mother Evergreen joined by local support Euriah and Winder. Ratboys will have just released their album, GN, on the 30th, making this set very fresh. With support from the other three bands, this will be quite the show.
