Electronic group Big Gigantic are known for mixing in jam band elements into their electronic music sets. Opening for them are Louis Futon, an electronic musician from Phily- check out his track “DRNUK”, and Ray, a local DJ.

What: The Phantom Broadcast, Square Donuts, and Discoverer

Where: The Accord ($8)

When: Wednesday, March 30th at 8 p.m.

Some fresh local bands on display over at The Accord on Wednesday night. The Phantom Broadcast are an up and coming local indie-jazz group- check out this interview we did with them about their latest EP Sublimation Love. Square Donuts are another newish local group that have a unique sound- give their latest EP Put the Jam On a listen. Also playing will be Discoverer, a local indie-acoustic act.

What: Grand Ambassador, with The Receiver, and Snayl

Where: Mike N Molly’s ($7)

When: Thursday, March 31st at 9 p.m.

Up and coming local indie-rock group Grand Ambassador are headlining this one at Mike N Molly’s. Also playing are dream-pop group The Receiver– check out their music video for “To Battle an Island”, and local electronic artist Snayl.

What: White Siberian Tigers

When: Thursday, March 31st at 9:30 p.m.

Local garage rock group White Siberian Tigers headline this Thursday night show at The Canopy Club. Also playing will be rock group The Threads, and Free Fall Out Boy Concert, who I must applaude for having a really confusing band name.

What: Mother Nature featuring T.R.U.T.H. and Klevah

Where: The Accord ($10)

When: Friday, April 1st at 8:30 p.m.

Come out and see C-U’s hottest hip-hop group Mother Nature featuring T.R.U.T.H. and Klevah– watch their music video for “Afro” to get hyped. Also taking the stage will be funk group abnormous, sythnpop group BoyCut, hip-hop group Chasin’ Trezz, and JEFF K%NZ X Gr8Sky.

Long-time alt-country group Neoga Blacksmith headline this one. Also playing will be indie-folk group Joshua Powell & the Great Train Robbery, shoegaze group Overly Polite Tornadoes, and Eric Christian Stanley.

Where: Orpheum Theater (free)

When: Friday, April 1st- Sunday, April 3rd

DoCha, also known as Downtown Champaign Chamber Music is having a music festival this weekend at the Orpheum Theater. Go check out some world-class chamber music for free this weekend at the historic Orpheum Theater.

Another night of electronic music over at The Canopy Club- this time it’s Los Angeles duo Slander. Opening for them are Axilon, Combustibles, and $ettlement.

Indie-rock group Notaword are reuniting after almost 15 years- go see what they are all about on Saturday night at Mike N Molly’s. Also playing are Coffin Problem, Earthholder, and J is for Jared.

Local funk outfit Church Booty will be performing at Krannert Center for Pygmalion’s Afterglow series. All ages, and free to attend.

Brooklyn hip-hop group Flatbush Zombies are fresh off the release of their debut album 3001: A Laced Odyssey– check out their single “This is It” from the album. Opening for them is A$AP Twelvyy of A$AP Mob, and Remy Banks.

Australian blues guitarist Anne McCue brings her music to the Rose Bowl Tavern in Urbana on Sunday afternoon. Come out and enjoy some rugged blues rock- get a taste by listening to her song “Little White Cat”.
