Chicago emcee BeeKay is set to headline this show with a few others on Wednesday night at Canopy Club. He recently released his new mixtape  8 Semesters. You can check it out to preview the show here. Pretty solid singer-songwriter show happening at Mike ‘N Molly’s on Wednesday night to contrast the show at Canopy. Pamela Machala headlines as a part of her first ever solo tour that is coming to a close a day after this show.

WHAT: Halloween Cover Shows

WHERE: Error Records ($3 or free with a costume)
 
WHEN: Thursday, October 31st and Friday, November 1st at 7 p.m.
 
A pair of Halloween shows over at Error Records on Thursday and Friday night this week. Similar to the Great Cover Up at the Highdive, bands will be performing as some of their favorites. On Thursday, Øde Vinter (Burzum), Orange Soda (Devo), Teenage Martains (The Misfits), and Earth Witch (Black Sabbath) perform, and Friday night Old Fox Road (Ramshackle Glory), Nick Brannock (Laura Jane Grace), Cassius (Sufjan Stevens), Hometown Heavyweights (Brand New), and Bookmobile! (The Cure) are lined up.

Mega-huge dubstep DJ/producer Rusko heads back to the Canopy Club this week after performing here back in February 2012. This is the last date of his Lift Me Up tour  This ought to be an interesting combination over at Canopy with Halloween happening as well.

The Dirty Feathers ready their first performance since Pygmalion Music Festival back at the end of September when they performed with Warpaint and Murder By Death. They’re dubbing it “The Dirty Feathers’ Halloween Acid Nightmare”, so I can only imagine what kind of antics they have in store on Thursday night.

C-U pop-rock outfit Sun Stereo headlines this show on Halloween over at Cowboy Monkey. Not only that, but blues/rock/folk band the Curses join in on the fun as well. Should be a solid show all the way around, no doubt.

WHAT: Grouplove, The Knocks, Saints of Valory

Indie rock outfit Grouplove make their way through C-U as a part of Star Course’s next show in their programming schedule this semester. You might remember them for one of their songs in this Apple iTouch commercial. They’re joined by a couple of others as well, and this is a pretty close show in proximity to their latest show featuring Baauer early last week.

It was around this time last year that Zach Vinson made his way through C-U for a show, and he’s doing it again this year on Friday night at Mike ‘N Molly’s. You can check out our interview with Vinson that we did then and check out some of his music to prepare. Local crew Year of the Bobcat supports as the opener.

Chicago crew Hemmingbirds make their way back through C-U after stopping in to perform at Memphis on Main back in February. This time around, they’ll be at Mike ‘N Molly’s with locals A Cool Hand and Chicago’s The Fruit Flies. We’ll be running a preview of this show later in the week.

Big show lined up over at Cowboy Monkey on Saturday in celebration of local emcee Swords’ brand new album Depth. The album is getting a release on Heirship Records, and believe me, you’re going to want to pick this album up, folks. One of the better local albums to come out this year. Pick up a copy at the show or around town at Exile on Main next week.

Rock/jamband outfit Lotus headlines this Sunday night show over at Canopy Club. There about right in the middle of a handful of tour dates, they’re hitting Urbana then Cincinnati the next day.
