James Mauck’s Fore-tet

Brighton Sier on trombone, Matthew Miller on vibes, Andrew Binder on bass, and James Mauck on drums. Expect some covers, as well originals from Mauck.

The Urbana Hootenanny

Rose Bowl Tavern // free // 8 p.m.

Every Monday at the Rose Bowl, come hang out with some great musicians. A sort of open mic meets song share, you can expect a variety of music and performers.

Noiz Assembly

WEFT Sessions 

Playing their annual WEFT Sessions gig right before Halloween, this set is always weird, wild, and wacky — are those all synonyms? I don’t know. I mean that in the best way possible, however. This is going to be a fun set.

The Bashful Youngens

Local folk favorites The Bashful Youngens hit the Rose Bowl for an evening of roots and Americana.

The jazz train continues at The Rose Bowl on Wednesdy with the Vine Street Syncopators. Come hearsome piping hot jazz and hang out.

THURSDAY, October 28th

Sam Payne and Charlie Harris

Rose Bowl Tavern // free // 5 p.m.

The fingerpicking duo of Sam and Charlie play bluegrass, country, blues, and folk at Rose Bowl. 

Ian Shepherd and Friends

Rose Bowl Tavern // free // 8 p.m.

Drummer Ian Shepherd teams up with other talented local musicians to bring you a great evening of jazz, blues, funk, and rock.

FRIDAY, October 29th

Chip Stephens Organ Trio

Rose Bowl Tavern // free // 5 p.m.

Not your typical jazz trio! Organ, guitar, and drums mix together to create some great tunes.

New Orleans Jazz Machine 

NOLAS Rock Bar// free // 5 p.m.

Carlyle Johnson on clarinet and saxophone is joined by friends for Friday Jazz Happy Hour at NOLA’s.

VV Lightbody, Modern Drugs, Minor Moon

Rose Bowl Tavern // $10 // 8 p.m.

Chicago-based Vivian McConnell — aka VV Lightbody brings her “nap-rock” to Rose Bowl alongside of Minor Moon, as well as Champaign-based rockers Modern Drugs. You might recognize McConnell from her previous band Grandkids. 

SATURDAY, October 30th

Bringing the rock of the 60’s and 70’s, K-Tels are going to keep you grooving with rocking covers as well as originals.

Kilborn Alley Blues

Rose Bowl Tavern // free // 7 p.m.

Hitting you with some tasty licks and southern fried soul, you’re always in for a great time with Kilborne Alley.

NOLA’s Halloween Jam

NOLA’s Rock Bar // $5 // 8 p.m.

NOLA’s is hosting a Halloween party with a costume contest, drink specials, and live music from Anika Emily and Booth Blues, Castle Finn, and New Souls.

Dubstep producer Peekaboo is joined by Buku, Mize, Smith, and Lizzy Jane for a night of electronic music and dancing.

Producer and DJ Dirty Monkey hits the Canopy Club on his Depolarize tour. Joined by Wreckno and Kumarion, come party and finish your Halloween night off with this show.
