Dewclaw pair classic blues and swing sounds with contemporary folk music, and do so with a great sense of humor. They’ll be providing another great Tuesday night set at the Iron Post.

This Jerusalem-based act is comprised of four musicians who play their unique brand of funky electronica. It’ll be unlike anything else you’d heard.

Saturday, Sept. 24th at The Accord, Memphis on Main, and Exile On Main St., starting at 4:30 p.m.

Get ready for round two. This is the second weekend of Pygmalion, and the main event. Over THIRTY ACTS will be playing over these three days, including all the headliners. Make sure to grab your tickets before they’re all snatched up. To many, this is the biggest event in C-U music to happen each year. Do NOT miss it.

This famed “best Kiss tribute ever” go all out with the makeup, the outfits, and of course, the killer covers. The Kiss Army always know how to party, so even if you aren’t a soldier, you’re bound to have a good time.

The annual Blues Blast Music Awards is a celebration of all things blues music. Various events and dozens of artists will be showcased. Check out the site for more information.

WHAT: Joshua Redman/Brad Mehldau Duo

WHERE: Krannert Center (tickets start at $10, standard is $48)

WHEN: Friday, Sept. 23 at 7:30 pm

These musicians are a saxophonist and pianist, respectively, and they are masters of their work. Each one is accomplished and critically acclaimed in his own right, and here they will come together as a distinctive and compelling jazz duo that will not disappoint.

WHAT: Music Barn Festival

WHERE: Allerton Park ($20 per day, $35 for both days)

WHEN: Friday, Sept. 22nd – Saturday, Sept. 23rd, 7-9 p.m. both days

Allerton’s Music Barn Festival will return this year after a hiatus. The fall concert may have a large barn, but it still has a very homey feel. Folk and jazz will be some themes and drinks will be available for purchase. Allerton’s page will tell you more.

WHAT: Culture Shock Danville

WHERE: Downtown Danville (free)

WHEN: Afternoon and evenings of Friday, Sept. 23 – Sunday, Sept. 25

Culture Shock is the Danville version of music festivals taking place this weekend. All sorts of music is accompanied by a carnival with fire breathers and jugglers, in addition to food and drink vendors.

WHERE: Centennial Park/Prairie Farm (admission is free)

WHEN: Saturday, Sept. 24 from 11:00 am – 5:00 pm

Bring in the fall full-force with this celebration of all things autumnal. Family-friendly flannel fest includes music, arts and crafts, and several lumberjack-themed activities, such as log-rolling and of course, a mustache and beard contest.
