Soooo… Tell us about your new releases.

bqeIncoming!  We’re all a-quiver what with the new Sufjan Stevens rock-opera “The BQE” dropping, plus the delayed-for-a-week Atlas Sound (Deerhunter dude), the new Flight of the Conchords (songs from Season Two), Pavement princeling Spiral Stairs’ new effort, new albums from Lightning Bolt, Maps, Fu Manchu, Fuck Buttons, Do Make Say Think, Kings of Convenience (their mellowest yet) and OOIOO.  Need a headtrip in triptych? Dead Meat, Espers and Warpaint explore three distinct triangulations of psychedelia on their new releases. You can re-live or discover (depending on your age) essential music milestones with the special Omnibus Editions of a couple Bauhaus classics (“In the Flat Field” and “Mask”) and an expanded reissue for Pylon’s 1983 masterpiece “Chomp.”  And lastly a collaboration between Jay Farrar (Wilco) and Ben Gibbard (Death Cab) in a variety of formats.

Rocking Our World: The new Espers CD has totally seduced us. The Big Pink’s debut is stuck in the carousel again, plus the new Flaming Lips, The Low Anthem, Modest Mouse’s recent singles collection, the ‘new’ Prefab Sprout, the upcoming Echo & The Bunnymen album ‘Fountains’ (along with their backcatalog, cold weather = Bunnymen marathons at Parasol HQ), Six Organs of Admittance, a recent Died Pretty reissue…
