Smile Politely

Twilight Symphony brings the crowds

Every summer the University of Illinois Summer Band brings some free musical culture to the Quad, and the tradition continued this year- its 109th! Dr. Stephen Peterson, Director of Bands, kicked the evening off on June 23rd with the National Anthem before leading the band through a wide variety of songs. From marches to musicals to Illinois Loyalty (a must have!), the tempo varied throughout the hour long performance but the enthusiasm of the crowd never changed. Guests took advantage of the good weather and pleasant music to kick back, relax, and enjoy time with friends and family before heading into their Fridays.

Look below for photos of the performance, and don’t miss the next (and final for this summer) concert on the Quad at 7 p.m. on July 21st!
