AM-KO Oriental Foods and Gifts on the corner of First Street and Springfield Avenue is now closed permanently. Earlier this summer, the Asian grocery announced the store’s impending closure. The small business first opened in 1978 on Green Street before later upgrading to this spot at which they’ve had the same owners for 15 years.
We already had to say goodbye to Little Maize, and now this.
I’ll miss this corner grocery, and I wish all the other little local groceries much sales.
