There’s one fewer place for a morning cup of coffee. Aroma Cafe in Downtown Champaign is permanently closed. In 2020 during the pandemic, the coffee shop closed their stand-alone location and moved into the restaurant Cowboy Monkey, which remains open serving Tex-Mex food, cowboy cocktails, and weekend brunch.
This past summer, Rafay reviewed Aroma Cafe’s tasty breakfast, lunch, and cake. I will miss Aroma’s seasonal lattes and the chocolate chip swirl cake.
