Attend a pre-release screening of Golda next week

The Champaign-Urbana Jewish Federation and The Program in Jewish Culture & Society at the University of Illinois are hosting a private pre-screening of the film Golda on August 23rd at 6:30 p.m. at the Savoy 16 Theater. The film is about former Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir during the 1973 Yom Kippur War, with Helen Mirren playing Meir.

Prior to the movie there will be a panel discussion with Urbana Mayor Diane Marlin, Champaign County State’s Attorney Julia Rietz, Village of Savoy Trustee Heather Mangian. It will be moderated by Professor Brett Ashley Kaplan from the Jewish Studies Department at U of I. After the movie, they will show a pre-recorded discussion with Helen Mirren and director Guy Nattiv, which will not be shown once the movie is released to the public.
