Tampa Bay Times journalist Eli Murray, a 2015 graduate of the University of Illinois journalism program, will be on campus for a question and answer session with Associate Professor Charles “Stretch” Ledford. Murray and two other journalists at the Tampa Bay Times were awarded a 2022 Pulitzer Prize for their six-part project “Poisoned,” an “exposé of highly toxic hazards inside Florida’s only battery recycling plant that forced the implementation of safety measures to adequately protect workers and nearby residents.”
