Famous for their sandwiches, Baldarotta’s Porketta & Sicilian Sausage is re-opening next week with more than just awesome sammies. After a brief closure that began on February 24th, the Lincoln Square restaurant will re-open for sandwiches on Tuesday, March 9th, and the new Gelateria expansion will open on Friday, March 12th.
The Gelateria will serve gelato in a cone or cup. Baldarotta’s will also be introducing gelato brioche which is a dessert with scoops of gelato served in a sweet brioche bun. Here is a look at the flavors that will be available next week.

Huge sandwiches and gelato would make a solid meal, but Baldarotta’s just announced that adult beverages will be available as well. The drink menu will include beer, wine, mixed drinks, and specialty cocktails. I’m ready for the Baldarotta’s Bloody Mary which is made with vodka and Bloody Mary mix with a garnish of salami, mortadella, pepperoni, capicola, celery, sport peppers, a pickle spear, and a lemon wedge. Hot damn, that’s a garnish. I want it.

Check out the menu here. Starting Tuesday, March 9th, you can order your meal in advance here for pickup, or go to the Lincoln Square Mall for indoor dining at the restaurant. The new Gelateria will open at 11 a.m. next Friday for gelato and drinks in addition to the sandwich shop.
