This fall, Black Dog Smoke & Ale House will reopen the restaurant’s original location. Black Dog first opened in Downtown Urbana on Broadway Avenue in 2009 but has been closed since the pandemic. It’s pretty exciting to hear confirmation that Black Dog Urbana will finally reopen. The owner says there is still substantial work to be completed, though he promised no major changes, just necessary updates and improvements.
Black Dog’s Urbana is anticipated to open sometime this fall. Until the original location’s reopening, the Champaign location is open seven days a week.
