Twin City Squared is looking for cast members for the punk rock opera based on Green Day’s album. American Idiot is about three young men from the suburbs in post-9/11 America attempting to adult. The production will be directed by Mikel Matthews, Jr. (recently of She Kills Monsters, notably of Evil Dead: the Musical and RENT) choreographed by Whitney Havice, and musical direction will be by Lydia Dunmyer. The show will run from May 27 – June 5.
If you’re interested and available, auditions will be at 1907 W. Springer Dr., Champaign, on Friday, April 1st from 6-9 p.m. and Saturday, April 2nd from 3-7 p.m. All auditioners should have prepared 16 bars of a rock song to sing and be comfortably dressed to learn dance moves while wearing sneakers (Chucks) or boots (combat).
